Dear OTS NEWS,

Further to your article concerning the rusted bins at Monument Square on Lord Street, I would like to let you know that this is something that I have been working on in the months since my own election. Having raised this with the council I have managed to achieve with the relevant department an on-going restoration trial whereby one bin has been removed in an attempt to jet blast it clean before repainting in its original colours. As priority, work has been focussed on the bins in the Bandstand Gardens in front of the Vincent Hotel, in addition to the newer metal bins at Monument Square where we hope to achieve a positive outcome. I shall of course keep you updated on all progress I make with this. If any of your readers however would like to get in touch with me directly to discuss this matter or any other concerns then they are able to see me in person at one of my surgeries:-

Dukes Ward Councillor David Barton holds his Ward Surgery every third Saturday of the month. The upcoming dates for these are as follows:

Saturday 19th September

Saturday 17th October

Saturday 21st November

Saturday 19th December

He will be available from 2pm-3pm at the Atkinson Arts Centre on Lord Street to assist residents with any local issues or neighbourhood concerns.

Alternatively, the Conservative Councillor can be contacted on:-

Tel: David Barton 07968 581611

Dukes Ward covers the Western part of Birkdale and Hillside along with the Town Centre itself.

Kind Regards

Councillor David Barton

Dukes Ward
