A long line of cars (stretching from Ainsdale to Birkdale) behind these riders moved at a snail’s pace. There is a dedicated cycle track available, yet the bikes chose to use the main road. Video here. The road holds a 50 mph limit yet drivers were forced to travel at low speeds from just 10 to 20 mph behind the bikes. What would have happened if an emergency service vehicle such as a police, paramedical or fire engine had reason to use this busy two lane road?
