Worried residents have flooded OTS News with concerns about a Southport care group after yet another bad inspection report.

The health watchdog has once again blasted Community Care direct.

CQC inspectors have condemned the Shakespeare Street based care company and once again left it in special measures after decided that not enough had been done to improve the service.

As such they believe the level of care patients receive is still inadequate.

Although some improvement have been made, the CQC say there are serious concerns over how medication was given and the lack of guidance staff get before they are sent out to care for patients

Managing Director of Community Care Direct limited, Sarah Mellor said: “The  previous inspection by the Care Quality Commission, Community Care Direct has delivered considerable care improvements that have been recognised by CQC at their recent inspection. As a result lifted several compliance breeches.

“In light of these improvements and close co-operation with the CQC and Sefton social care commissioning it is with great disappointment that CQC has decided to maintain the grade of inadequate.”

“Community Care Direct is a local based company and employer that has enjoyed considerable local support with outstanding testimonials from its clients, however Community Care Direct is always committed to delivering quality care and whilst is grade is a disappointment that we will continue to work with the regulator our clients and STORM to become totally compliant.

“We must stress that there is no reason for clients to be concerned and we’ll be happy to deal with any concerns or anxiety. Community Care Direct looks forward to this grade being reviewed in the very near future.”
