Community Association joining in Flower Show event at Botanic Gardens

The Botanic Gardens Community Association have been invited to have a display and to join in with the Spring Flower Show being held in the Banqueting Hall, Botanic Gardens, Churchtown next Saturday and Sunday.

Alan Foxall, organiser of the Show, explained that the Association are working hard to improve the Gardens and he felt that it would help them to ‘up their profile’ if people could come along and meet them and find out more about their aspirations.   “They have already made a vast improvement within the Gardens and it seemed only fair that they should join in and have the opportunity for people to meet them and for the Association to find out what people can do for them”.

The Southport Spring Flower Show is being organised by the Southport Chrysanthemum & Gardening Society in the Banqueting Hall, on Saturday from 1pm to 5pm and Sunday 10am to 4.30pm, and on display will be a large variety of show entries including cut flowers, pot plants and floral art, crafts and baking exhibits.

Admission to the Show is only 50p and on Sunday Radio Lancashire’s Steve Lowe will be broadcasting his Great Outdoor Show from the Gardens between 11am and 2pm, so there is a lot going on.

Everybody who attends the show will have the chance to win exciting prizes in the Grand Raffle which will be drawn at 4.45pm on Sunday, after the Trophy Presentations, by Steve Lowe, at 4.30pm.
