The end of British Summer Time is at 2.00am on Sunday (27th October), clocks need to go back an hour to 1.00am to revert to Greenwich Mean Time. The result will be that darkness arrives sooner in the evenings but we gain an extra hour of daylight in the mornings. BST traditionally starts on the last Sunday in March and ends on the final Sunday in October. Clocks will go forward again on Sunday 30th March 2014.
