Vincent Prior Rock Night Success

by
20th December 2015

A Charity Rock Night took place on Friday 18th December in Memory of Southport man Vincent Pior.

Sister and event organiser, Deborah Prior said: “Wow what an amazing night, a huge thanks all round”

“Thank you to each and every one of you for coming down to The Mount to help raise some money for the Friends of the Poplars & remember fondly, my big brother Vinny!

“It is with great pride and pleasure I can announce that, with a donation from Mr A Gilmore who couldn’t make the event, of £14… We raised the fantastic sum of £1000 (we took £986 on the night).

“So huge thanks to every single person…I am sincerely grateful for not only your generosity but also all the kind words of comfort and memories.

“Many, many thanks to everyone who donated gifts, gave me advice, spread the word far& wide and turned up to support this event and make it the success that it is….THANK YOU!!

“Well done and huge thanks to Akoosticka for the fantastic music…everybody loved it…as Vinny would have!! Thanks Karl and James…I know how hard you worked…Holy Diver- amazing stuff”

“DJ Nick (the cat in the hat) big thanks to you..you rocked it!! Let’s do it all again next year?! We had a great one- hope you did too”.
“Many thanks yet again goes to Jo at the Mount for letting us invade your beautiful pub!
Thanks for looking after us so well & to all of your staff too”.

With the blessing of The Poplars, we have decided to make a donation in Vinny’s memory to The JDRF (jdrf.org.uk)
“The Juvenile Diabetic Research Fund is a charity that supports children and young adults who have been recently diagnosed with Type1 Diabetes”.
“I thought this would be a fitting memory as I remember Vins struggles after his diagnosis…so £100 from the total will be sent to them in time for Christmas”.

“So an amazing £900 will be on its way to The Friends of the Poplars, sent with all our best wishes to help with your garden project…which we all look forward to seeing the results of in 2016.

A huge congratulations to Daniel North who won the Seiko Sportura Solar watch…well done Daniel!”

“Finally, best wishes to you all for a really wonderful Christmas!”

MERRY CHRISTMAS- YOU GUYS ROCKED IT!!
