Changes to Southport Bus Network – 29 March 2015

On Saturday 14th March, Arriva Southport will be parked in the Upper Town Hall Gardens to answer any queries you may have about how the bus network is changing. We will have network maps, information and staff available for public transport advice. Want to know what’s changing? Come and see us on board!

Summary of changes;

Service 42
 Withdrawn, generally replaced by revised service 44.

Service 43A
 Sunday evening service increased to operate every 30 minutes.

Service 44 
Increased to run every 20 minutes, route revised to serve Hoghton Street in both directions and via Virginia Street, Forest Road and Meols Cop Road to serve Kew Retail Park, finishing at Walnut Street.

One journey per hour will extend to Formby (not serving Walnut Street). Journeys from Formby will no longer operate via Station Road in Ainsdale.

Services 43, 46 and 49 will be unchanged. Service 43 will continue to serve Central 12 in Southport.

Service 300
Route revised to operate via Scarisbrick New Road, Eastbank Street, Lord Street and finish at Union Street, no longer serving Meols Cop Road, Sussex Road and Hoghton Street.

In Walton service will no longer operate via Orrell Park, instead via Hornby Road, Aintree Road and Marsh Lane in both directions.

Some additional journeys will also be introduced.

Services 375 385
Route revised to continue from Southport Road onto Scarisbrick New Road, no longer serving Town Lane in either direction.

Passengers travelling to the Hospital can alight on Scarisbrick New Road to access via the side entrance.
