Changes to buses linking Southport to Preston And Liverpool

Stagecoach has announce a number of changes to our ever popular X2 / 2X services, linking Preston, Southport and Liverpool – from 12th April 2015.

Key changes as follows:

Buses will be numbered X2 throughout and the ‘2X’ number will no longer be used between Preston and Southport.

There will be a revised timetable, 7 days per week to improve reliability and to make the times simpler and easier to follow throughout the day.

All journeys will now run via Banks village between Crossens and Mere Brow. The route from Southport will be as normal to Crossens roundabout, then via Banks Road, Ralph’s Wife’s Lane, Hoole Lane and Guinea Hall Lane, before re-joining the normal route at A565 towards Preston.

The same new route will apply in reverse for buses heading towards Southport. All stops throughout the new section of route will be observed.

Customers between Southport and Preston should also note that there will be a number of changes to the timetable of service 2 to address a number of reliability issues on that route from the same date.
