CCTV SYSTEM UPGRADE FOR BANKS VILLAGE NEAR SOUTHPORT August 27th, 2013 admin Latest News Shares Comments CCTV SYSTEM UPGRADE FOR BANKS VILLAGE NEAR SOUTHPORT At the beginning of July, work was undertaken to upgrade the Parish Council’s CCTV systems at the Station Road Play Area. The new equipment includes a state of the art video camera which produces pictures equivalent to those on Blu‐Ray film discs; the outstanding resolution can give facial and car registration recognition at up to 100 metres. The video streams and still pictures can be viewed and controlled from suitably equipped and authorised locations anywhere in the world over a secure internet connection and is not limited to an older style single central monitoring suite. Recordings are kept for up to four weeks to assist the police or other partners in identifying criminal or anti‐social behaviour; in addition children using the Play Area will be afforded better protection although parents and those in charge of children are reminded that it is their responsibility to ensure the safety of children in their charge at alltimes. The installation at Shore Road will also be upgraded to the same standard as part of the current building operations on the Council’s Car Park. The Council will then have a total of ten CCTV cameras in operation in the village completing their commitment in the Village Plan. Submit News Contact us with your community, business or sport news.
