CCTV APPEAL – ROBBERY LADBROKES SOUTHPORT

Merseyside Police has issued a CCTV still of a man officers believe may have important information about a robbery at a bookmakers in Birkdale.

The robbery occurred at Ladbrokes on Bedford Road at about 9.10am on Thursday, 7 May.

At this time one male offender entered the bookmakers, threatened staff and made off with a quantity of cash. No-one was hurt during the robbery but staff were left very shaken by the incident.

Detectives have released a CCTV image of a man they believe could have vital information in connection with the incident.

Detective Sergeant John Fitzgerald, from the Sefton Serious Acquisitive Crime team, said: “This was an unexpected and frightening experience for staff at the premises. As part of our on-going inquiries, we have issued a CCTV image of a man who we think may have important information which could help with our investigation.

“I would appeal to the man, or anyone who recognises him, to get in touch with us as soon as possible.”
