CCTV APPEAL: CONFRONTATIONAL BURGLARY – SANDON ROAD, BIRKDALE

by
24th September 2015

Detectives have released CCTV of a man who may be able to assist with inquiries, following a burglary in Sandon Road, Birkdale in July 2015.

At around 2.40pm on Friday, 17 July, the occupier was at home with her daughter when she heard noises outside the house. A short time later she entered her conservatory and found two men inside. The occupier began screaming at the men, who then left the property through the conservatory door, before driving away from the house.

The woman and her child were uninjured but left distressed by the ordeal. A number of items including a pair of earrings, and items from a skip on the driveway were stolen from the property.

It is thought the two men, then got into a white Vauxhall Movano can, registration X917GLH and drove away.

Detective Inspector Jimmy Belmar said: “This must have been a very frightening experience for the victim and her daughter and we’re sure the local community would want the people responsible for this burglary to be brought to justice.

“We believe that two men entered the property, and we have released CCTV of one man who we believe could assist with our investigation. We are also keen to speak with anyone who has seen this van or knows where it’s parked or stored.”

Enquiries are on-going in relation to this matter and anyone with any information is asked to contact Sefton CID on 0151 777 3059 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
