Byng House Southport “World War One Collage Competition Awards” June 10th, 2014 admin Latest News Shares Comments In March this year, Byng House Royal British Legion in conjunction with Tesco Southport launched within Southport Schools a competition where children could create a collage surrounding the theme of World War 1. We received a massive 159 entries in the following age categories: 3-7 year old 7-11 year old 11-16 year old The standard of entries was exceptionally high and on Monday 9th June the panel of judges made up of Jason Carroll Manager Byng House, Paul Flood UK Operations Manager RBL Poppy Breaks and Lesley Kirkbride Community Champion from Tesco Southport set about judging the winners. We are pleased to announce the winners as 3-7 year old age category Winner: Monty Corlett from Shoreside Primary School 7-11 year old age category Winner: Jasmine Lilley from All Saints Primary School 11-16 year old age category Winner: Chloe Morris from Halsall St Cuthbert’s CE Aided Primary School All the winners will attend a prize giving reception at Byng House on Monday 16th June at 13:00hrs, where Tesco £25 gift vouchers and Royal British Legion goodies will be given to each winner At the reception the Overall Winner will be announced. This winner will receive a further £75 in Tesco gift vouchers All the winning entries and all other entries will be displayed at an Open Day at Byng House to be announced in September and the winning entries and a selection of submitted entries will also feature in Tesco Southport. All entries will also be sent to Mons in Belgium, where they will be featured with other children’s work at a local music festival in October.
