Bus driver nicked on suspicion of drink driving after crash in Merseyside

The driver was working for a Southport based bus company crashed in Toxteth injuring a number people has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving.

The emergency services were called to the junction of Princes Road and Upper Stanhope Street shortly adtfer 8.45am this morning, following reports of an RTC involving a bus.

On arrival officers found that a yellow Cumfybus had collided with a blue Ford Fiesta.

A Merseyside police spokesman confirmed the 70-year-old driver of the bus was arrested at the scene on suspicion of drink driving.

The spokesman also said that four passengers on the bus suffered very minor injuries, and that a building was damaged.
