Bootle Labour bigwig Peter Dowd was out in Southport delivering leaflets this  week. Just as the BBC were filming an item showing how destructive and discriminatory the Bootle-run Sefton Cabinet have been to our town.

Labour are keeping open three libraries in Bootle constituency (including one which issues hardly any books at all) but plan to close down much busier libraries in Southport.

The Labour leaflet being put out in Southport by the Bootle brigade contains all sorts of distortion but one particularly massive lie. it claims that Dowd and his cronies have given Southport businesses £50,000 to launch the Business Improvement District. The truth is that every penny of this money comes from the Coalition Government, given to support shopping centres under the Mary Portas initiatives.
