A biker group from Southport have raised an impressive £1,300 for Queenscourt Hospice thanks to a special night of music at the Fox and Goose.

Rockerbox bikers were delighted with the final total and proudly presented a cheque to the Town Lane based hospice this week, hailing their night of rock n roll as a huge success.

A raffle along with the host of musical performances at the Fox and Goose, which took place earlier this month, saw lucky winners walk away  with an electric guitar, hundreds of pounds worth of shopping vouchers and even a day out clay pigeon shooting!

Paul Smith, a rockerbox biker, told the Champion: “The night was a huge success, with over £1300 raised for Queenscourt Hospice!

“The raffle itself, was obviously a very popular draw with the main prizes of electric guitar, £100 voucher for a local motorbike shop and a day’s clay pigeon shooting, all being put forward by Rockerbox.

“There were many other prizes donated by local businesses and the Fox and Goose, which along with collection tins, have helped raise this fantastic total.

“We are delighted that we can help Queenscourt with this donation and we all know the incredible amount of hard work nurses there do on a day to day basis.

“A charity rock night was one of the best ways we could help fundraise.”
