James sadly lost his battle against Osteoblast Osteosarcoma cancer on Saturday 18th April 2009, aged 10. Presedent of Southport Trinity, John Stansfield, donated the bench to James’s family this afternoon (Sunday 16th December 2002, at The Rookery Club, Roe Lane, Southport. James who played in goal for Trinity in the 2006-7 season was known to team mates as “Jimmy Safe Hands”. Team mates couldnt be present at todays presentation due to an away match fixture at Lytham, but they will be thinking about James at the persent time.
