BAGS OF FUN FOR GALLOWAY’S SOUTHPORT March 12th, 2014 admin Latest News Shares Comments BAGS OF FUN FOR GALLOWAY’S On Saturday 8th March volunteers arrived at Asda superstore to take part in a charity bag pack, to raise vital funds and awareness for Galloway’s Society for the Blind, based on Wright Street in Southport. Lucy Preston, Tola Olagbegi, Verity Mitchener, Corrine Paul and Tom Curtis, students from KGV College, all attended the bag pack, along with members of Bangor University Raise and Give group, who travelled down from North Wales to show their support on the day. Emma Wilson, Fundraiser for Galloway’s said “I want to thank all my wonderful volunteers for giving their Saturday to help raise this fantastic amount of money for Galloway’s. I also want to thank Sharon Gregory-Wareing for letting us have the bag pack at ASDA and also thank you to everyone who put money in our buckets, it really does help” Galloway’s Society for the Blind supports over 6000 local blind and partially sighted people, providing them with advice, equipment and activities to help them maintain their independence and rebuild their confidence. Galloway’s needs to raise £850,000 each and every year to continue running these services and relies heavily on volunteers, donations and legacies.
