Appeal to trace owners of recovered gardening equipment January 31st, 2014 jmr jmr Latest News Shares Comments Appeal to trace owners of recovered gardening equipment POLICE are appealing for information and are trying to trace the owners of some items that have been recovered from a garage in Ormskirk. On Monday (27th January), a number of items of gardening equipment were recovered from an unused garage on Sephton Drive after officers received anonymous information of suspicious activity at the garage earlier that afternoon. The items recovered include: 1. Yellow and Grey “RYOBI” Petrol Garden Leaf Blower 2. Orange and grey “CASTOR TURBO 34” petrol long strimmer 3. Orange and grey petrol 3 in 1 multi garden tool including strimmer, hedge trimmer and chainsaw 4. Orange and Black “GREEN JEM CONTRACTORS” sledgehammer. Officers believe there is a possibility that these items may have been stolen although at this stage they are unable to match the property to any burglaries reported to them in the division in the last month. As a result, officers are appealing for information in case they have either been stolen and the theft has not yet been reported to police, alternatively, the items may have been stolen from outside the local area. PC Paul Whittaker said: “If these items have indeed been stolen then we want to do all we can to reunite the owners with their property and trace the people responsible. “If anyone has any information or recognises the items then I would ask them to contact us. I would also appeal to anybody who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the area to let us know.” Anybody with any information can contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or on-line at Crimestoppers-uk.org. No personal details are taken, information is not traced or recorded and you will not go to court. Submit News Contact us with your community, business or sport news.
