Appeal after safe is stolen in Longton burglary August 14th, 2012 admin Latest News Shares Comments POLICE are appealing for information after a safe containing a large quantity of cash and personal possessions was stolen from a business premises in Longton last month. The burglary took place over the weekend of Friday 13th July to Sunday 15th July at RDT Construction Unit on Gilroy Gill Lane. The offenders have approached the business unit out of office hours via a track that runs alongside the unit and have managed to force entry to the premises. Once inside the offenders have forced entry into a locked and secure office area and removed a safe containing several thousand pounds in cash and other personal items before dragging the safe back to a side door and escaping. A police investigation is underway. DC Will Hogan from Leyland CID said: “This safe is incredibly heavy so the offenders would need to have used a vehicle of some sort to transport it. “It is possible that the safe has been emptied and dumped somewhere so I would appeal to anybody that thinks they have seen this safe or with any information about this burglary or the persons responsible to come forward and contact police.” Anyone with any information should call Lancashire Police on 101.
