Police are appealing for information after a racing motorbike was stolen in Formby.

The specialised off road grass track bike, which is black and green, was taken from outside a property on Redgate, Formby, in the early hours of Sunday 16 August.

Officers have issued an image of the bike in a bid to trace it.

Inspector Jim Atherton said: “The bike is quite distinctive. It is green, black and chrome and has a large ’51’ on the side. It is specialised motorbike, only designed to go around a circular track and has no brakes.

“We would urge anyone who has seen the bike or knows of its whereabouts to contact us.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Merseyside Police on 101 or the confidential Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111.
