Another Post box theft, Wennington/Sydney Road (Southport)

The post box on Wennington / Sydney Road has been forced open again and all of the post stolen. The theft happened at around 12.05am this morning, Thursday 14 July 2016.

A local reside told OTSNews.co.uk: “The theft was committed by two white men driving blue Fiat Punto shortly midnight.”

“It’s not the first time it’s happens either. I would say about 5 times in the las 12 months or so.”

“I think the box should be removed, it is too hidden away. It is not fair on these people who loose their post and we just blame the post office service!”

The incident has been reported to Merseyside police.

If anyone is seen acting suspiciously near to post boxes please report to Police via 999 emergency or 101 non emergency.

If anyone has information regarding these crimes please telephone Merseyside Police on 101 or crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. Residents are advised to be careful posting valuable items and to consider sending such items via a post office.
