Dozens of drinkers who left their vehicles in the town centre found their new year off to a shaky start after being hit with parking fines. Many who stayed overnight in local hotels were also penalised early this morning. A local licensee said: “I’d certainly be outraged if I was trying to stay on the right side of the law by not drink-driving and I got a ticket.
