Southport youths set fire to bin

Emergency service were called to Lord Street shortly after 6.20pm following a report of a liter bin on fire, Thursday 5 May 2016.

A local reporter from the Champion newspaper witnessed four youths deliberately set fire to the bin nearest to the iconic Lord street bandstand.

He said: “These lads thought it would be funny to set bins on fire in the Town Centre. Then abused the guy trying to put it out (me)”

One appliance from Southport Community Fire station attended the scene and quickly put the fire out.
