A youth has been charged following a stabbing in Preston

A 17 year old youth has been charged by detectives investigating a stabbing in Preston.

The boy has been charged with Section 18 wounding and possession of a knife and is due to appear before Preston Youth Court this morning (Wednesday, December 23rd)

A 16 year old boy arrested yesterday (Tuesday, December 22) on suspicion of Section 18 wounding remains in custody.

Four other people aged between 13 and 25 and from Preston have been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Police were called around 5pm on Monday (December 21st) to reports of a fight behind the Black Horse pub in Orchard Street during which the 18 year old was stabbed.

He remains in a serious but stable condition in the Royal Preston Hospital where he was taken with a single stab wound to his stomach.

Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information should contact police on 101 quoting log number 0973 of December 21 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
