A Southport nursery raised £450 for Alder Hey and Anthony Nolan Trust

Kids Planet Yarrow House raised over £450 for Alder Hey and the Anthony Nolan Trust. The nursery held a summer fair and open day on Saturday 2nd July with lots of activities for children including bouncy castle, face painting, tombola, Mr Stix, refreshments and more. They raised a total of £478.50 which will be split between the two charities.

Alder Hey Children’s Charity provides vital funds to help make Alder Hey in the Park a truly world-class, patient-friendly hospital – making a crucial difference to the 270,000 patients and families who are cared for at Alder Hey every year.

Anthony Nolan Charity saves the lives of people with blood cancer and blood disorders.  Every day, they match incredible individuals willing to donate their blood stem cells or bone marrow to people with blood cancer and blood disorders who desperately need lifesaving transplants. They also conduct world-class research into stem cell matching and transplants, so they can make sure every person in need gets the best possible treatment.

Jessica Stoate, Community Fundraiser from Anthony Nolan Charity said, I just wanted to say a huge thank you for also choosing to raise vital funds for us we cannot tell you how grateful we are for your support, and the incredible difference you are making”.

ots-kid-planet2Sue Spofforth, Nursery Manager was pleased to present Kelly Glover who is Staff Nurse on 4C ward represented at Alder Hey children’s hospital and John Harrison who represented Anthony Nolan Trust a cheque for the sum of £478.50 which was raised at Yarrow House Summer Fair.  Sue said, “We had a great time at our summer fair raising so much money for both charities! A big thank you to all of our families at nursery for making the event such a huge success!”

Kids Planet Yarrow House is situated on Manchester Road in a residential area close to Southport town center, with local bus routes running close by and ample parking in their own large car park. The nursery is open 8am till 6pm Monday to Friday and closed for bank holidays.
