4X4 vehicle stuck on Southport Beach

A 4X4 vehicle became stuck in mud on Southport Beach this morning (Wednesday 19 October).

The incident happened about 500 yards out to sea off Weld Road, Birkdale.

The driver and passenger remains on scene waiting for a recovery vehicle to pull the 4×4 free.

Officers from Merseyside Police have attended as it is an offence to drive on the beach without a permit.
