247 Professional Health student agency workers receive recognition in Edge Hill University employability awards evening.

Six of 247 Professional Health’s student agency workers have been recognised in the acclaimed Edge Hill University Employability Awards Evening 2017.

The leading Southport based recruitment agency, which operates as a Tier 1 supplier of flexible staff for a number of NHS Foundation Trusts in the North West, joined a cohort of aspiring young talent during a glittering awards ceremony organised by the university’s Careers Centre.

As part of the nominations to recognise the achievements and contribution students make in the local area, Shaun Wibrew, Louise Garner, Zach Green, Jennifer Bowen, Amy McMurdie and Ashleigh Hay were all named ‘runner-up’ in the ‘Student Employer of the Year (External)’ category for various organisations.

Head of Operations at 247 Professional Health Ryan Armitage said: “Here at 247 Professional Health we strive to create opportunities for students keen to enter the nursing and healthcare sector. Having teamed up with Edge Hill University’s Careers Centre, we collectively help to enhance students’ employability after sourcing and securing part-time work.

“It a real honour for six of our student agency workers to be recognised for their efforts and commitment – a big congratulations goes to them all for scooping the ‘runner-up’ position in the highly honourable category.”

Since its establishment in 2008, 247 Professional Health has gained an excellent reputation for providing nursing and care staffing solutions nationwide. The family run agency recruits a large range of specific industry agency workers from the North West alone in locations including Liverpool, Wigan, Manchester, Warrington, Bolton and Preston.

Head of Careers at Edge Hill University Jacqui Howe said: “Edge Hill recognises employability as an essential component of the student experience, and the Careers Centre plays a vital role in ensuring that our graduates are well prepared to succeed in a competitive labour market. The Employability Awards Evening provides an opportunity to recognise the progress and achievements that students have made in developing their ability to stand out from the crowd. It is also a chance to say thank you to employers, departments and organisations who work with us.”
